SOUTHERN MARYLAND AQUATICS
Registration for the 2026-2027 Season will open to returning swimmers on Wednesday, July 8th. All new prospective athletes must attend team tryouts on Wednesday, July 22nd and be cleared by a coach before they can register.
TEAM TRYOUTS
July 22, 2026 6:00 pm at Lackey Pool
Come prepared with a suit, cap, goggles, and towel. Swimmers should be prepared for a 10-15 minute tryout showcasing their ability. Entry requirement for SMDA competitive team levels is two pool lengths freestyle, two pool lengths backstroke, a dive, and one minute tread. Athletes must display endurance required to complete a one hour practice. Approval is at coach's discretion.
About SMDA
Southern Maryland Aquatics is a year round competitive swim team based in La Plata, MD. We offer high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability. We practice at Lackey High School and St. Charles High School in Charles County Maryland.
